The "Wall of Shame"  -  Could you add to it?

As we study grammar in our fifth grade, there is posted in the room a “Wall of Shame.”  Students are encouraged to open their eyes to words around them everywhere- on TV, signs, billboards, and more.  If any words are spotted that are incorrectly spelled or used, they are added to our "Wall of Shame."  Included on the wall so far are words such as donuts, lite, grapez, Froot Loops, tuff stuff, Krispy Kreme, potato stix, xtreme, Dubble Bubble, and more!  Many students have seen misspelled words for so long, they thought that was how those words were truly spelled.  It’s been “eye opening” to see so many marketing and advertising gimmicks that play with words to catch our interest, but that are actually incorrectly spelled or used.

Education News in Ohio

[2] Ohio was one of 11 states and the District of Columbia that made big promises to win competitive grants in 2010 to reform their school systems. A full year of the four-year grants has been completed, which offers time enough to assess how well the states are delivering. Read more.

It's 5:21 in the morning, and the alarm goes off. I roll over and hit the snooze button in hopes of just nine more minutes of sleep before the day begins. At 5:24, my two-year-old quietly – his version of quietly, anyway – enters the room and approaches the bed. I pretend to still be asleep so he'll walk to the other side and crawl in with Anne (Failure #1).
